Print and Non-Print Materials
Circulating print materials and non-print materials are generally loaned for 21 days. Included are adult and juvenile books, unbound magazines, flash cards, kits, pamphlets, flat pictures, maps, audiobooks, Playaways, music CDs, CD-ROMS, VHS, and non-feature DVDs. Holds and 2 renewals are available on these items. Fines are $.10 per item/day with a maximum of $5.00 per item.
Best Seller Express
Bestseller Express titles have a 14-day loan period with no holds or renewals. There is a limit of 2 per customer. Fines are $.50 per item/day with a maximum of $5.00 per item.
Feature DVDs
Feature DVDs have a 5-day loan period with a limit of 5 per customer. Feature DVDs can be placed on hold and renewed 1 time. Fines are $1.00 per item/day with a maximum of $5.00 per item.
DVD Best Seller Express
DVD Best Seller Express titles have a 3-day loan period with no holds or renewals. There is a limit of 3 per customer. Fines are $1.00 per item/day with a maximum of $5.00 per item.
Digital Downloads
The Library attempts to standardize the loan policy for digital downloadable materials to correspond to current loan policy for similar library materials. Some vendors set the lending terms for their products, and loan policy may vary for these items.
Special Loan Periods
Each Location Manager is authorized to set up restricted loan collections for materials that are in short supply and high demand, as well as to make decisions concerning short-term loan of reference or other non-circulating items.
*Number of Items
There is a limit of 100 items that a customer may borrow at one time (new borrowers and out-of-county student cards have a limit of 7). Bestseller Express, audiobooks, music CDs, Playaways, feature DVDs and DVD Best Seller Express have additional limits.
Renewals
In most cases, two renewals are allowed unless there is a hold on the item. Walk-in customers may have items renewed at the Circulation Desk, with or without having the materials in hand. Customers may also renew items on our web page; by calling (812) 428-8249 Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm (except holidays); or by calling their branch library.
Exceptions to 2-renewal limit: Feature DVDs may be renewed 1 time. Best Seller Express titles (books and DVDs) are not renewable
