As part of a nationwide tour, the Digital Bookmobile, a 74-foot 18-wheel tractor-trailer, will be visiting the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival on Friday, October 10, 10:30am to 6:00pm. Visit the Bookmobile, at the northwest corner of the Lloyd & St. Joe, to find out more about the EVPL's recently-revamped OverDrive collection: featuring downloadable audiobooks, eBooks, video, and music! Bring your personal MP3 player and OverDrive Media Specialists will show you how to transfer titles to it!
This isn't your typical tractor-trailer! The Digital Bookmobile is equipped with broadband Internet-connected PCs, high-definition monitors, premium sound systems, and a variety of portable media players. Use a computer station to search our digital media collection, use supported mobile devices, and sample eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video.
The Bookmobile is comprised of five rooms:
- Digital Catalog: Best-selling authors. New release titles. Classics and crowd-pleasers. The EVPL's OverDrive collection has it all! Get acquainted with our download website with introductory videos & interactive computer stations, and browse our collection.
- Audiobook Alley: Discover how to download, listen to, and transfer downloadable audiobooks. Bring your own personal MP3 player and receive personal instructions on transferring audiobooks to it!
- eBook Experience: Test out eBook reading software, learn about popular eBook formats, and discover the immersive reading experience offered by modern eBooks.
- Gadget Gallery: Get hands-on with MP3 players, PDAs, Smartphones, and eBook readers that support audiobooks, eBooks, and video from the EVPL.
- Video Lounge: Kick back and enjoy some of the best video titles available on a huge high definition screen, giving you a taste of all the download video content the EVPL offers.
