ccard

Have late fines? Patrons can now pay them online using a credit card! For more information about this process, refer to the FAQ below.

pay fines online faq

  1. How do I get started?
    1. Fines payment can be made from a home computer or from any of the public computers in the library if you owe $5 or less. If you owe more than $5, payments can be made from a home computer or from any of the "Catalog Only" public computers in the library. Credit card payments CANNOT be made at the Circulation Desk.
    2. Log into "My Account."
    3. Click the "Unpaid Fines" button to display a detailed list of the money that you owe.
    4. If the amount owed is at least $2.00, the "Pay Online" button appears. Clicking this button opens a new window and begins the e-commerce transaction.
    5. If there are multiple charges listed, you may uncheck any you do not wish to pay at this time. Click the "Recalculate Total." The resulting total must be $2.00 or more to make an online payment.
    6. Enter your billing and credit card information. Click "Submit"
    7. A confirmation screen appears giving you another chance to confirm your information and the amount you wish to pay. Clicking "Cancel" returns you to the previous screen.
    8. If your information is correct, click "Submit" to submit this information to your credit card company.
    9. A payment receipt appears if your transaction was successful. You can print this screen or if you entered a valid email address in the billing form, an email receipt will be sent to that email address.
    10. A successful transaction will immediately update the balance in your library account. When you close this receipt window, the screen with your library account information may still show that you have an unpaid amount. The correct and updated information will be displayed if you refresh your browser.
    11. Logout of your account.
    12. Close your web browser.
  2. Is there a transaction fee?
    1. We do not charge a transaction fee at this time
  3. Is there a minimum amount required?
    1. There is a minimum amount of $2.00.
  4. Can I pay a partial fine?
    1. Individual charges must be paid in full, but you can pay selected charges listed on your account. Uncheck the fines/charges you don't want to pay and click "Recalculate Total Payment".
  5. What credit cards do you accept?
    1. Visa and Mastercard; including debit cards with the Visa or Mastercard logo, Discover Cards, and American Express.
  6. How do I print the payment screen?
    1. A payment receipt appears if your transaction was successful. You can print this screen or if you entered a valid email address in the billing form, an email receipt will be sent to that email address.
  7. What do I do if I find an item after I've paid for it?
    1. If the item is located within 60 days of paying for it, the customer may request a refund. Bring the item and receipt to a branch library and approved refunds will be mailed in the form of a check to the customer ($6.00 processing fee not included in refund).
  8. What caused my transaction to be denied?
    1. "A checked-out item could not be removed from your record (someone else is updating it) please see librarian for assistance." - This means that the item you are trying to pay for is being updated. Please try to pay for this charge again later.

The correct and updated information will be displayed if you refresh your browser. Some types of blocks do remain after payment of fines and must be removed by the Circulation or Customer Account Staff.
