Homebound Library Services

Home delivery of library materials is available to persons unable to visit the library themselves due to disability or unique circumstances. Homebound delivery of library materials is a free service for residents of Vanderburgh County.

Who does the material selection?

Homebound Services staff makes materials selection based on customer requests and specified reading preferences. A reading record is maintained by the Homebound staff for each customer to assure no duplicate titles.

What materials are available for circulation?

The materials available for home delivery include books in regular and large print, audio books on cassette and CD, music CDs and some magazines.

When are materials delivered?

Volunteers make deliveries and pickups approximately every 28 days.

Circulation privileges

The Homebound status has an extended loan period and no fines are levied on overdue materials. Current library cards held by customers must be surrendered to the Homebound staff. The customer is responsible for any lost materials.
