Before our first SPEAK 2024 event, you can mingle with bestselling author Kate Quinn, enjoy light refreshments, and receive VIP seating at the SPEAK presentation when you purchase a ticket to our VIP Reception. Tickets cost $30 and proceeds benefit the EVPL Foundation.
The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library’s SPEAK: An Explorative Lecture Series will feature authors in 2024 who touch on our theme of Read, Discover, Play.
Kate Quinn is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of historical fiction. A native of southern California, she attended Boston University where she earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Classical Voice. She has written four novels in the Empress of Rome Saga, and two books in the Italian Renaissance, before turning
to the 20th century with The Alice Network, The Huntress, The Rose Code, and The Diamond Eye. All have been translated into multiple languages.
Kate will discuss her research and works on Thursday, March 21 at 7:00 pm in Old National Events Plaza Ballroom A. Thanks to the generosity of the EVPL Foundation, this event is FREE and open to all.

Book sales are a primary fundraising activity of the Foundation. Held several times throughout the year, proceeds from the sales are used to support youth programs and services, the community lecture series, emerging technologies, collections, staff engagement, and special library projects and initiatives.
