Donated Materials
The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library accepts donated materials in good condition. Their use is determined by the library. We accept adult and children's fiction and non-fiction hardbacks and paperbacks as well as audio books on cassette or CD, music cassettes, music CDs, CD-ROMs, VHS, and DVDs. All must be in good condition.
There are a few categories of materials that are not accepted as donations due to age or type of material.
- Outdated computer books, encyclopedias, travel, medical, or health books which have been published more than 5 years ago.
- No magazines, school textbooks, pamphlets, or Reader's Digest condensed books of any age.
Materials donated to the Library may be claimed for tax purposes. Library staff will complete a Donation form with the number of items donated. You determine the free market value of the materials for your tax return.
