On Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14, Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library will host Evansville's first-ever Anime Convention open to all ages. There are several events planned for E'ville Con, including a cosplay contest, anime screenings, special guest speakers, artist alley, and video game tournaments.

Anime will be screened in Browning Events Room B, panels and workshops in Browning Events Room A and Video arcade in the Large Group Room 2nd floor.

Cartooning Workshop will feature guest speaker Josh Elder, author of Tokyopop's "Mail Order Ninja" series. Additional panels will feature local teen John Hayden Name That Anime and Dusty Golday Anime Creation.

There will be several video games and tournaments including a DS Pokémon Tournament. Don't miss this event.

E'ville Con staff and volunteers will be wearing E'ville Con t-shirts for easy identification. Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance whenever needed.

Registration

Registration begins at 9:00am in the Browning Events Hallway. Please enter through the Browning Events Room or Café door. At registration, sign up for Cartoon Workshop and Cosplay Contest and enter your name in the raffle. A winner will be drawn at 12, 2pm, and 4pm.

Artist Alley

Freelance illustrator and USI Student, Carmen O'Keefe will be featured in our Artist Alley. She created the artwork for our Otona no Otaku group.

About Me: I am currently an illustration major at the University of Southern Indiana who has a love of anime and video games. Someday I'd like to combine the two and do character design/illustrations for a video game or two. For now I'm just doing some freelance stuff and showing/selling my work at different conventions around the mid-west. I live in Princeton, IN with my wonderful husband and puppy.
