Rules
- All weapons or weapon-like items brought to the convention must be fake and be a part of the attendee's costume.
- No sharp edged items or objects are allowed.
- Live metal/steel objects (katanas, swords, knifes, blades, or any other objects which falls in the same group, whether sheathed or not), guns and gun replicas (including toys) are not permitted/allowed.
- Allowed prop weapons such as plastic weapons or wooden swords must not be drawn/used unless posing for a photo or in competition. It may scare other attendees and violation of this rule may result in confiscation of the item and/or further action depending on the severity of the offense.
- Your approved props will be listed on your tag to make others (especially security personnel) aware that your prop is safe and approved.
- Cosplay contestants will be judged on costume appearance, effort, and stage presence.
This will establish the carrying and use of all prop weapons, costume pieces, or actual weapons such as katanas, stars, and Kendo sticks.
A weapon is anything that looks like or resembles it is dangerous to anyone from 25 feet away and under any conditions. Weapons must be in plain view and can not be concealed. It can be considered a weapon in such circumstances as
- A police officer could think it is a weapon 20 feet away in the dark.
- If one could conclude that there is a reasonable chance the item may cause physical harm, could be used to cause physical harm, or make a person believe they may come to harm.
- If it could be used in a menacing manner, could be used to menace, or make a person believe they may come to harm.
E'ville Con prohibits the following:
- Weapons prohibited under Indiana law
- Real guns (working, disabled, or otherwise)
- Metal blades (knives, swords, sharp wings, etc.)
- Projectile weapons (pellet guns, airsoft rifles/Hand guns, disc guns, etc.)
- Loaded water pistols or other liquid "weapons"
- Practice swords
- Any other potentially harmful weapon/prop as determined by E'ville Con staff.
