MyLibraryDV

MyLibraryDV is a unique video-on-demand service created by Recorded Books in partnership with the EVPL. The service was originally offered as a trial in early 2007, but after receiving positive feedback from patrons we're now offering the full service with an expanded lineup! Hollywood Favorites and full-length feature films from Sony Pictures Entertainment join our already-expansive collection of programming such as cooking, travel, health programs, classic movies, foreign films, and more!

With MyLibraryDV, library patrons can checkout and download up to 10 programs at a time for viewing on your computer. Programs can be viewed an unlimited number of times during the 7-day checkout period. Patrons are limited to one Hollywood Favorites and Sony Pictures Entertainment movie every 24 hours. After play is initiated, the movie expires in 24 hours. Movies can be viewed an unlimited number of times during this 24 hour period.

To get started with MyLibraryDV, please follow these steps. NOTE: MyLibraryDV is not accessible on library computers; you will need to use your own computer or laptop.

To access MyLibraryDV:

  • Download & install the MLDV Download Manager (this is a one-time requirement that takes 2-4 minutes).
  • Open the Download Manager by double-clicking the icon on your computer's desktop.
  • Browse the available programs, and choose ones you'd like to watch.
  • Once a small portion of the program has downloaded, you can begin watching it!

Requirements for MyLibraryDV:

  • A valid EVPL library card
  • A broadband Internet connection (DSL, cable, etc.)
  • The most recent version of your browser (Firefox and Internet Explorer provide optimal results)
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 with SP4 or Windows XP with SP2
  • Flash Player 9 and Windows Media Player 10
  • 1 gigabyte of available hard-drive space
  • 1 GHz processor or greater (supports simultaneous record/playback features)

MyLibraryDV's software will automatically detect and alert you of any necessary Player upgrades to access the service and will aid in their installation.

To access Hollywood Movie channels:

If you've just installed MyLibraryDV using the instructions above, or you previously installed MyLibraryDV during our trial period, follow these steps.

  • Open the Download Manager by double-clicking the icon on your computer's desktop. If you are not prompted within 5-10 seconds to update your version of the application, please close and reopen the application.
  • The first prompt to update your version will appear immediately; click "yes".
  • Within several minutes, you will detect this upgrade taking place by clicking on the movie button in the left-hand side of the channel guide; the number of subcategories will increase from two to three, four and eventually five categories, including Sony Pictures Entertainment and Hollywood Favorites & World Cinema collections.
  • Towards the end of the upgrade, a prompt will appear to add new content; click "yes" to enjoy hundreds of films and television episodes from the new collections now on the channel guide.

Please be advised that some content on MyLibraryDV may not be suitable for viewers under the age of 17.
