Historical Clipping File and Addenda
Prior to the start of indexing newspaper articles in March of 1972, articles were clipped out of newspapers or magazines and filed under subject heading. Once indexing of newspaper articles began, these clippings were microfilmed to preserve them.
- If there is at least one clipped article on the Historical Clipping File microfilm, the Local History Index card for that heading will have a red 'CF' in the upper left corner, or its cross-reference in red will end in "(CF)."
- Some later clippings, pamphlets or photocopies have been added to the Addenda of the Historical Clipping File. If additional material has been added, the heading card has a red 'A' in the upper left corner of the card.
- Copy the information on the index card and give it to the Reference Services staff to view this material.
