We are excited to announce a new initiative – Seasons of Sharing! EVPL is committed to supporting our community at every stage in their lives, and we are looking forward to adding one more way to work with our community to create a positive impact in the lives of those in our region.
Each “season” throughout the year, a different community need will be highlighted. The library will partner with different local charities to provide opportunities for our community to give back through donation drives.
Beginning Sunday, October 15, and continuing through Saturday, October 28, Seasons of Sharing will encourage everyone to pledge to donate blood, with a goal of 40 donations. According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.
Donations may be pledged online and then made at any time and location convenient for you during the duration of the campaign
If you are unable to pledge a donation, monetary donations can also be made to the American Red Cross.
Starting from Thursday, June 1, EVPL and the Teacher Locker are teaming up once again for our upcoming Summer 2023 Seasons of Sharing initiative. The Teacher Locker has a Wish List, and items include: notebooks, pencils, paper, glue, scissors, markers, paint, art supplies, decorations, calculators, staplers, and binders.
Library users of EVPL collected two vans full of materials for the Teacher Locker during Summer 2022!
According to their website, the Teacher Locker, is a place where EVSC teachers grades Pre-K-12 can receive FREE school supplies for their classroom at no cost to the teacher. The goal is to reduce what teachers spend out of their own pockets for their classrooms.
Beginning Tuesday, February 14, and continuing through Saturday, March 4, Seasons of Sharing will be accepting new and/or unopened baby item donations at all eight EVPL locations to support the work of Little Lambs, Pre to 3, and Community Action Program of Evansville (CAPE). These local resources provide pre-natal and pediatric care while ensuring local babies and their caregivers are supplied with essentials.
Suggested new and/or unopened donations include: Diapers, baby wipes, baby shampoo and conditioner, clothes, socks, sippy cups, children’s books, personal hygiene items, incontinence supplies, baby food, and baby formula.
