The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library Foundation is 501(c)3 established to support the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library. We inspire and connect the community in a desire for shared exploration, understanding, and engagement in the wonder of knowledge.

The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library Foundation fosters connections in 3 key ways.
Whether it’s through book sales events, opportunities to learn about authors, or to give to special projects of the library, the Foundation is committed to helping individuals, organizations, and businesses connect through the library, and grow in its desire for shared exploration, understanding, and knowledge.

Spark a lifetime love of reading with EVPL
EVPL invites readers to discover the magic that lies within books, where curiosity is ignited, and lifelong learning begins. The presenters selected for SPEAK 2026 will ignite your love of books, reading, and your library. Discover the beauty of true love in a romance novel, explore our nation’s past, nurture a child’s imagination in a picture book, or find culinary inspiration in a cookbook.
The EVPL Foundation is an underwriting supporter of SPEAK: An Explorative Lecture Series.
Previous presenters in our SPEAK series include:
The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library will carry forward essential arts programming previously led by the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana, ensuring that the region’s most valued arts experiences remain strong, accessible, and sustainable for years to come.
Assets from the Arts Council will fund programming in the immediate future, with the EVPL Foundation supporting initiatives moving forward.
The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library Foundation is the Indiana Arts Commission Region 10 (Greater Evansville Area) Regional Arts Partner. Regional Arts Partners work alongside the Indiana Arts Commission to promote and expand participation in the arts in Indiana. The partners provide broad local access to arts services and funding opportunities.
Book sales are a primary fundraising activity of the Foundation. Held several times throughout the year, proceeds from the sales are used to support youth programs and services, the community lecture series, emerging technologies, collections, staff engagement, and special library projects and initiatives.
