Making connections

The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library Foundation is 501(c)3 established to support the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library. We inspire and connect the community in a desire for shared exploration, understanding, and engagement in the wonder of knowledge.

VIP RECEPTION | SPEAK | UPCOMING BOOK SALES | CONNECT

The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library Foundation fosters connections in 3 key ways.

  • Connecting the community to the library through events, activities, and special offerings
  • Guiding community members in ways to volunteer to make a difference through the library
  • Providing opportunities for the community to give financially to the library and to support its impact.

Whether it’s through book sales events, opportunities to learn about authors, or to give to special projects of the library, the Foundation is committed to helping individuals, organizations, and businesses connect through the library, and grow in its desire for shared exploration, understanding, and knowledge.

You too can be part of the movement of knowledge and wonder in Evansville. To learn how you can engage in this exciting journey, contact the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library Foundation by emailing foundation@evpl.org.

SPEAK: An Explorative Lecture Series

The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library’s SPEAK: An Explorative Lecture Series will feature authors in 2024 who touch on our theme of Read, Discover, Play.

Elin Hilderbrand | Thursday, May 2

Elin Hilderbrand is known as the “Queen of the Beach Read” and has written 33 novels, most of which are bestsellers set in the summertime of Nantucket. Her books have circulated more than 18,000 times among EVPL readers, and she is the 5th-highest circulating adult author at EVPL. Elin’s final Nantucket-based novel, Swan Song, is set for release this summer.

A year-round resident of Nantucket, Elin enjoys going to the beach, cooking for her young adult children, and occasionally dancing in the front row at the Chicken Box. She is a grateful nine-year breast cancer survivor.

Before her visit, EVPL will host a series of programs exploring Elin Hilderbrand’s works and themes.

Elin will discuss her works on Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 pm in the Aiken Theatre, Old National Events Plaza. Thanks to the generosity of the EVPL Foundation, this event is FREE and open to all.

The EVPL Foundation is an underwriting supporter of SPEAK: An Explorative Lecture Series.
