Evansville, IN – Anne Basting, PhD, will share her internationally recognized approach to dementia care in a special event, “An Evening With Anne Basting: Discussions on Creative Care for Those Experiencing Dementia” on Wednesday, March 11, at 6 p.m. at EVPL Central.
The discussion will explore the complex realities of aging, dementia, and end-of-life, with the goal of building compassion, understanding, and wisdom for the oldest members of society.
Dr. Basting is an Emerita Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and is the Founder of TimeSlips.org, which trains caregivers to unlock the meaning and joy in elder care. As the author of numerous articles and four books, including Creative Care: A Revolutionary Approach to Elder and Dementia Care, she has been internationally recognized for her speaking and innovative work, including being awarded a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship.
