What Do You Love? Artist Reception this Friday; Exhibit continues through May 6

Evansville – EVPL’s first juried art show, What Do You Love?, is on exhibit now at EVPL Central through Wednesday, May 6, in the newly renovated rotunda on the second floor. An artist’s reception will be held this Friday, May 1 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.

The reception, which is open to the public, will include the presentation of awards for first, second, and third place, as well as an honorable mention, as judged by Kaman Hillenburg.

Hillenburg is the Curatorial Affairs & Collections Manager at the Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science, overseeing 50,000 objects from the Museum’s permanent collection. During her 16-year tenure at the Evansville Museum, she has organized numerous art juried exhibitions including Mid-States, Working Together, and High School Art Show. She graduated from the University of Evansville with a double major in art history and archaeology and currently serves as Vice President with the Association of Midwest Museums.

More than 50 works were submitted to the What Do You Love? exhibit, which celebrates love in all its many forms. Many items in the exhibit are for sale by the artists and can be seen Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
