“The Revolutionary War in Three Paintings” theme of next EVPL SPEAK series event
Evansville – As part of EVPL’s SPEAK 2026 series, Notre Dame professor Dr. Patrick Griffin will present “The Revolutionary War in Three Paintings” on Tuesday, July 21 at 7 p.m. at the Evansville Museum.
Dr. Griffin is the author of five books, including The Age of Atlantic Revolution: The Fall and Rise of a Connected World, America’s Revolution, and American Leviathan: Empire, Nation, and Revolutionary Frontier. His work explores the intersection of colonial American and early modern Irish and British history.
“As America observes the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Dr. Griffin’s discussion of these three paintings will further illuminate the history of the war that led to our nation’s independence,” said Erika Qualls, Director of Programming & Outreach, EVPL.
Due to the generosity of the EVPL Foundation and the Evansville Museum, this Literary Arts Experience is free to attend, and tickets are not required. Following Griffin’s formal presentation, he will participate in a Q&A and book signing.
