Applying For Your Library Card

Join the 170,593,000 library cardholders across the United States and register for your EVPL library card today!

Free to residents and property owners of Vanderburgh County, a Standard EVPL Card grants you access to all materials and services, including public computers and digital resources.

To register for your card, visit any of our eight locations and have your proof of current address and valid photo identification on hand. For teens and children under the age of 18, a parent or guardian signature is required. You can also sign up online for your EVPL card here. Note – EVPL PLAC and eAccess card registrations cannot be done via this form.

Courtesy EVPL Card

Available to anyone living outside of Vanderburgh County while enrolled or teaching at a Vanderburgh County pre-K – 12 school, college, or university and outreach organizations located within and serving adults and youth in Vanderburgh County, Courtesy EVPL Cards provide access to physical materials, public computers, and online databases – excluding Hoopla.

Limited EVPL Card

Available to those in temporary housing in Vanderburgh County, Limited EVPL Cards provide access to library materials and online databases.

eAccess EVPL Card

eAccess EVPL Cards provide access to EVPL’s public computers, online databases, and digital collections. eAccess cards are available to the following:

  • Student eAccess – Students enrolled in pre-K–12 schools in Vanderburgh County in which the school has chosen to enter into a partnership with EVPL.
  • Business eAccess – Persons living outside Vanderburgh County who are employed in businesses located in Vanderburgh County – may have access to databases and public computers only.
  • General eAccess – Persons who cannot provide verification of permanent or temporary residency.

Public Library Access Card (PLAC)

Available to Indiana residents who have a library card in good standing from their hometown, Public Library Access Cards provide access to all physical collections, some digital services, public computers, and online databases.
Renew: Annually, $65

Non-Resident Card

Available to Indiana residents without an Indiana library taxing district, Non-Resident Cards, previously known as Subscription Cards, provide access to all physical collections, some digital services, public computers, and online databases.
