Get ready for an exciting week of theatre exploration at the Free EVPL Theatre Camp, hosted by the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library (EVPL) in partnership with local community theatre professionals! This 5-session camp, running from Monday, June 9 to Friday, June 13, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. each day at EVPL Central, is the perfect opportunity for kids ages 8-12 to dive into the world of theatre.

Toni Schaperjohn leads with her heart and tries to foster an atmosphere of inclusiveness and kindness always.
A founding member of Destination: PLAY-Theatre for Children, Evansville Shakespeare Players, and STAGEtwo Productions, Toni enjoys sharing diverse, rich stories with people of all ages. She prides herself in collaborating with the local theatre companies and enjoys seeing the wonderful art that the local artists of all ages work hard to produce.
With a passion for community theatre, Toni’s directing resume is diverse. She says that picking favorite shows is like picking a favorite child, so some of her notable Shakespeare directorial credits range from the traditionally popular (Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, and Hamlet) as well as the audience favorites (Titus Adronicus, Merry Wives Of Windsor, and Cymbeline) and everything in between. Notable other directorial credits include Constellations, Heathers, Hedwig And The Angry Inch, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Rent, and others.
Jennifer Dalto is a passionate theatre educator, director, and the founder of Children’s Theatre of Southern Indiana (CTSI), where she empowers young performers to find their voice and build confidence through the performing arts. Prior to founding CTSI, she owned and operated the beloved D’Alto Studio of Performing Arts, where she cultivated a nurturing environment for aspiring young artists.
With decades of experience in performance, directing, and arts education, Jennifer brings energy, insight, and heart to every workshop she leads. Her programs are designed to spark creativity, build essential life skills, and introduce students to the magic of theatre in a fun and welcoming way. Whether onstage or behind the scenes, Jennifer believes every child deserves the chance to shine.
Dani Scott received her B.S in Theatre Arts from the University of Southern Indiana in 2015. She then went on to graduate with her M.F.A. in acting from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. in 2018.
Since completing her education, Dani has now become a lecturer in Acting for Non-Majors at the University of Southern Indiana. She also has worked in multi-venue performing arts centers, worked for several years as a professional actor, and worked alongside educators to create drama programs that build up the next generation of theatre makers.
Dani manages not only the administration side of Civic Theatre but also assists in the artistic and educational integrity of the theatre.
Leo loves smiles and laughter. Some call him, “The Short Little Funny Guy.” He studied improv at The Second City Training Center in Chicago, IL. He has a BS degree for theatre performances from the University of Southern Indiana. He has done several local theatre productions and improv shows. If he thinks it will make you laugh, he’ll do it.
