![“EVPL has been making a difference in my life since I was a small child. As one of 12 children in a poor family, going to the library was the real treat of my childhood. Although we could never afford vacations, EVPL books transported me to many faraway lands. It was your books that fed my curiosity and reading skills, which eventually led to my receiving a full-ride college scholarship. Most of [my] siblings also went to college on scholarships, and I think all those trips Mom made to take us regularly to the library played a huge part in all of us becoming educated members of society who have been able to contribute to our community in many ways.
