Announcing changes to evpl.org on July 6
Whether you’re looking for something from our collection, a program or event, an online research database, or many of our other services and resources… whatever it is, it will be easier to find than ever on our updated website.
Beginning on Monday, July 6, the homepage and navigation menus of evpl.org will change, offering new page features and menus designed to be intuitive and user-friendly.
Here are some changes to anticipate:
- The events calendar will be featured at the top of the homepage, showing upcoming programs and a calendar view.
- Our most frequently accessed pages are 1-2 clicks from the home page.
- An improved search function helps you easily find what you’re looking for on our site (the catalog search hasn’t changed).
- If you’re visiting the site from your phone or tablet, the menus are clearer and easier to use, and the site is much more like the full-screen version.
What hasn’t changed:
- As mentioned above, our catalog hasn’t changed, so searching for books, movies, music, eMaterials, etc. will be the same process.
- Direct URLs will still work, such as evpl.org/print, evpl.org/things, evpl.org/meeting, or evpl.org/research.
- Most web bookmarks will still work, but you will need to check and possibly refresh a few.
We made these changes after gathering information and feedback from a variety of sources, including:
- Page visits and other website metrics
- Feedback from patrons, such as comments to staff, survey notes, and Contact Us submissions
- EVPL librarians and other public services staff
- Visiting other library websites for ideas
We hope you enjoy the new site, and invite you to look through the updated navigation menus beginning July 6. You’ll likely know your way around in no time!
